MONDAY - A warm front that moved in on Sunday departs the region as a cold front. It’s expected to stall out briefly in the afternoon along the coastline. A weak area of low pressure brings precipitation chances in the form of scattered showers for the north, with hit-or-miss showers and storms closer to the coastline in the afternoon and evening. Storms that form could contain gusty winds and small hail, with downpours causing the risk of localized flooding.
Drier air begins to work over the south in the afternoon as the cold front drops into the southeast. While wind direction is variable to start off, pending on location, the breeze is expected to be out of the north/northwest by evening. MONDAY NIGHT – Isolated showers as possible as low pressure departs. Overnight lows fall into the 50s. TUESDAY—As the low departs and high pressure moves in, some isolated showers in the early morning are possible over far eastern areas. A mainly sunny day with warm conditions is expected. High temperatures range from the upper 70s to upper 80s (90° possible for Fryeburg), with generally comfortable dew points in the 50s to low 60s. A sea breeze develops in the afternoon, which cools the shorelines, with a light west/northwest breeze elsewhere. EXTENDED OUTLOOK—Humidity returns for WEDNESDAY as dew points climb into the 60s, with high temperatures in the 80s. A cold front approaches from the northwest in the afternoon. Showers and storms are possible late in the day and into Wednesday night. Morning showers are possible THURSDAY as the front departs, with drier air returning in the afternoon. A shower is possible for the north on FRIDAY. A dry day is expected for SATURDAY, with showers possible SUNDAY. Let’s go tackle Monday. I appreciate your support! – Mike |
