THE THREAT OF FLASH FLOODING IS LIMITED in areas where heavy rainfall fell from pop-up dumpers on Friday, but there is an isolated risk. With a cold front passing through in the afternoon, showers and storms should move along progressively. TWO WAVES OF SHOWERS will pass through the region, one during the day and another overnight into Sunday morning. THE MARINE LAYER keeps most of the convective rainfall well inland. The trade-off is areas of fog and drizzle south of the Route 2 corridor. Mid-level instability could bring a shower/storm to the south and east, but the risk is low. AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW SPINS THROUGH ON SUNDAY and brings more showers to the region, with the best chance for the west and north, and an isolated chance to the south and east. THE WIND PICKS UP MONDAY as the upper low exits to the east, beginning the drying out process, with widely scattered showers possible. The northwesterly airflow may bring gusts of 20-30 mph.
