PROGRAMMING NOTE: Now that winter is over and the pattern indicates little impactful weather, I will go through a reset here to prepare for summer. I have several incredible applicants for the PTW summer internship program that I need to interview and prepare for before they start in May. I will update periodically in the process.

OUTLOOK: After the weekend washout, the ideas indicate a "drier" pattern through early May. I am using quotes there as rain showers will be in the forecast periodically as disturbances pass through. The pattern overall appears progressive. After a warm start to the week, temperatures cool down, and the signals are within a handful of degrees of normal through the next 10 days. Coastal areas may be dealing with a cooling afternoon sea breeze at times, which is par for the course this time of year.

PRECIPITATION CHANCES: A few showers are possible for the Quebec border region into The County late Tuesday afternoon into the overnight. I can't rule out the risk of a rumble of thunder for the western mountains as the upper-level trough moves in. Areas to the south and east may get light rainfall overnight, but it may only register a few hundredths of an inch.

The next chance is late week into the weekend. Given the wide range of errors in the mid-to-long range in modeling, the lack of upper-air data due to staffing cutbacks with NOAA in key downstream locations brings questions for the weekend. It does not appear to be a washout, but it may not be pleasant. We'll see.
