An area of low pressure near the Great Lakes heads east-northeast during the day. A weak warm front may kick up a few snow showers over the mountains and bring a few frosted flakes elsewhere. The better chance for light snow comes overnight, which may drop a dusting to an inch in spots heading into Tuesday morning. The windmill takes a break for the day, but the cool breeze is expected to return on Tuesday over the south, west, and east in the wake of the cold front passing through Monday night. The breeze appears to continue through Wednesday before settling down on Thursday. Upslope snow showers are expected to be ongoing along the Quebec border and the higher elevations through Wednesday and may return on Friday. Temperatures will get chillier through Thursday before bumping up a bit heading into the first half of the weekend. Then, heading into next week, they will return to the cellar again with some bitterly cold nights. It’s time to check the levels of your heating oil, K-1, and/or propane to be prepared for that.
