The pattern is on repeat through the weekCLOUDS INCREASE ALONG WITH THE BREEZE as a frontal boundary approaches from the west. The southwest wind direction brings seasonably mild air into the region, which will increase in speed throughout the day. PRECIPITATION may begin over western interior areas by around sunset. Showers are expected to become more widespread overnight and end after midnight in the west and south, and by around daylight Tuesday in the north and east. LESS THAN ¼" OF RAINFALL is expected across most of the region. The taller hills and MidCoast/ DownEast areas may pick up as much as ½". WIND DIRECTION FLIPS TO THE NORTHWEST OVERNIGHT and cranks through Tuesday as a storm intensifies along the boundary as it heads into Atlantic Canada. Expect tree debris to become airborne and trash cans to tip over, along with the risk of isolated power outages. The breeze gradually settles as Wednesday morning approaches. AN ACTIVE PATTERN CONTINUES with precipitation and breeze for Wednesday night into Thursday, and again on Friday afternoon into Saturday and potentially Sunday afternoon into Monday. While the precipitation is undoubtedly welcome, given the drought, none of these systems is expected to be efficient rain producers, bringing much, if any, relief. ASTRONOMICAL HIGH TIDES WEDNESDAY TO SATURDAY may bring minor coastal flooding in the usual locations. The time is now to get ready to hit the slopes! The PTW Weather Wall updates 24/7Your financial support keeps the lighthouse lit |
