A quick update here but before I get into that, a huge THANK YOU to those who have contributed toward my 2025 operating budget. You folks are awesome, and I appreciate each of you who believe in my mission. Without you, PTW would not exist, and it is just that simple. I still have a way to go to meet objective for the year, and the big bills start rolling in for me in October. Any size contribution helps and for more information on that please check out the donate page ► https://www.pinetreeweather.com/donate.html As far as the rain on the way Wednesday night into Friday, I’ve been keeping tabs on this idea over the weekend. Model ideas are jumping around like toddlers in the bouncy house at the fair. Why? Over the weekend we had an upper low around the four corners in the southwest, which those who have followed here know that screws up the midrange ideas from showing torrential rain (2-3”) to a fair amount (~½-1”). Then there is the feedback from what is developing into strong hurricane Helene south of Cuba. Oh wait, then there is another upper low moving into the southwestern part of the country later in the week. Fall weather forecasting is just so much fun. Reading between the lines on all this has me thinking the north and mountains have a fair chance of picking up ½” + rainfall with less than that to the south and east. This appears to be a fairly juicy clipper system, but I can see where this may disappoint more than surprise. I am not hanging my hat on anything just yet as there is room for change. For those who want/need rain, my suggestion is to guard your optimism. Showers clear on Friday, and the weekend looks dry, with temperatures climbing above normal. I will post an update here Tuesday afternoon.
