SATURDAY: THE THIRD AMIGO UPPER-LOW has taken control of the pattern for the weekend. It will spin a weak front through northern areas later in the day, which may bring a shower with a chance of a rumble for the Allagash region heading into the evening. High pressure starts off to the southwest of the area and drifts east as the day progresses. It helps to get the sea breeze going around midday while nudging up dew points as it taps into ocean moisture. The day will be comfortable and warm overall. SATURDAY NIGHT: As the weak front drifts to the south overnight, it may bring a shower / sprinkle to the mountains and northern and eastern areas. A cool night is ahead for the far northwestern regions, with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s and lows in the low 60s for the coastal plain. SUNDAY: The weak front may stall out in the vicinity of the coastline or over the Gulf of Maine, which, if it does, could bring the risk of a shower and/or a storm in the afternoon. The key feature to watch will be along the sea breeze front for activity to pop up. Dew points rise into the mid-60s on the ocean side of the boundary. It’s a wait-and-see situation. The safe bet is to watch the sky. Interior areas enjoy a refreshing northwest breeze and a dry, comfortable day. High temperatures range from around 70° for the far north to the 80s south. OUTLOOK: The odds are good that Sunday's boundary near the coast will move south and east enough to bring the region one more dry day for MONDAY. The boundary returns as a warm front on TUESDAY, bringing the risk of showers and storms to the south and west. The risk of scattered showers with chance rumbles increases statewide on WEDNESDAY. Where the boundary sits by THURSDAY dictates how the day plays out, as low pressure is expected to form along it. Southern areas have a better bet for showers and storms for now, and the rest of the region should stay tuned. HIGH HEAT AND HUMIDITY is on track to return next weekend. Enjoy an awesome Saturday! – Mike
