A strong area of low pressure over Newfoundland slides to the east as an upper-level ridge, and associated surface high pressure gradually works into the region from the west. Maine sits in the middle of the two features, which means breezy conditions persist throughout the day and progressively settle down later in the day and into Saturday night. Dew point temperatures are below freezing, allowing tree debris to continue to dry out. While daily high temperatures are expected to range from the 30s north to nearly 50° south, the northwest airflow brings the chill and knocks the ambient temperature down 10-15 degrees. Elevated fire danger may expand into the north and west as the recent light precipitation dries out. The Maine Forest Service Wildfire Danger Report can be found here and is updated daily by 9 AM ► https://mainefireweather.org/ High pressure slides to the east on Sunday, with clouds increasing in the afternoon as a warm front approaches from the west. Light rain showers are possible Sunday night into early Monday but should clear out over most areas in time for Veterans Day parades. A sharp, moisture-starved cold front works through the region Tuesday, bringing the wind speeds up again and gradually settling into the middle of the week. Our next chance for rain comes late next week, and the jury is out on how much precipitation may come from that. Always have MULTIPLE ways to receive weather alerts.
