SATURDAY / SATURDAY NIGHT: Light to moderate showers will cover the region, ending from west to east in the afternoon. Breezy northerly winds will continue through the afternoon into the evening. The wind drops overnight, and the sky clears. PATCHY FROST is possible in the western mountains and up into the Allagash region by morning. Areas of fog could be locally dense around lakes and rivers to start Sunday.

SUNDAY / SUNDAY NIGHT: Outflow from the next system, along with cooler temperatures aloft, bring varying amounts of sun during the day, with a cloudier sky toward evening. Showers break out over the west and south in the wee hours of Monday, and areas of fog are possible.

Picture
MONDAY / MONDAY NIGHT: Showers spread into the north and the east in the morning. Off-and-on showers are likely for all areas throughout the day and into the night. Guidance has been spinning up the idea of a secondary low forming over Southern New England, which heads into the Gulf of Maine late Monday afternoon into Monday night. The timing of that and how quickly it organizes dictates total rainfall amounts. The low is expected to track into New Brunswick, which favors more rainfall for northern and eastern areas.

TUESDAY / TUESDAY NIGHT: Showers end from southwest to northeast as the storm heads for the Gulf of St. Lawrence. A northwest breeze develops, bringing in cooler, drier air on the backside and clearing the sky. Wind speeds are expected to drop late in the evening and overnight. Radiational cooling sets up to bring the risk of the first WIDESPREAD FROST of the season for areas away from the shorelines.

Picture
WEDNESDAY to FRIDAY: An upper low spins overhead which would bring varying amounts of cloud cover and brings risk for light showers over the mountains and north, with a spot shower/sprinkle elsewhere through the rest of the week.
