Snow continues in The County through MondaySLICK TRAVEL EARLY for snow and pockets of freezing rain and sleet away from the shorelines. TEMPERATURES are expected to rise into the upper 30s (western foothills, Bangor, DownEast interior) to the upper 40s/low 50s (shorelines) by midday. ANY SLOP OR STANDING WATER FREEZES as temperatures fall in the afternoon. This is important regarding clean up for the Rangeley region, as temperatures may not climb above freezing until later in the week, as below-normal cold continues. Either move it or live with it. SCATTERED SHOWERS POSSIBLE on the backside of the system after the steadier precipitation ends for the south and east. WET SNOW CONTINUES FOR THE COUNTY THROUGH MONDAY... the general idea of 6-9"+ west of Route 11 and 3-6" to the east, with the risk of junk mixed in remains to hold serve. SNOW SHOWERS FOR THE WESTERN MOUNTAINS add upwards of 1-3" through Monday. The Jackman and Chain of Ponds / Coburn Gore region may end up with a solid 6"+ two-day storm total by the time the machine turns off Monday afternoon. WIND PICKS UP as the storm intensifies and heads for the Gulf of St. Lawrence and spins around offshore of northeast New Brunswick through Tuesday. Wind gusts out of the west/northwest range in the 20s & 30s (elevations 40+) increase Sunday morning, expanding everywhere overnight. It will blow on Monday and slowly diminish on Tuesday as the storm weakens and gets shoved to the east. THE NEXT STORM is in the Friday/Saturday window. The idea of an inside runner that will bring rain with interior snow as a parting gift is the current thinking. Stay tuned. YOUR OBSERVATIONS & REPORTS ARE APPRECIATED.
