Synopsis outlook into early DecemberThis rather mundane pattern of late with weak clippers every two to three days continues through the week. A weak disturbance passes through Sunday afternoon, bringing light precipitation. A warm front moves northeast and brings another round of light precipitation on Tuesday afternoon/evening. There is a risk of pockets of freezing rain/drizzle in the interior due to a cold air damming signal, but I don't expect widespread concerns. Precipitation is expected to taper off from southwest to northeast on Wednesday morning. A cold front enters the region on Wednesday night, with a few showers possible overnight, ending before daylight Thanksgiving over the south and by roughly mid-morning over the north. Breezy, cool conditions are expected for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, as a storm is forecast to intensify near Labrador. The northwest flow keeps the upslope snow showers going in the mountains through Friday night. Saturday appears dry with less wind. Snow showers are possible over western areas on Sunday afternoon, wrapping up the holiday weekend. Guidance is signaling a deeper trough over the southwest part of the country forming next week, which, if that idea holds, offers more chances for precipitation. The wildcard there will be the offshore ridge and how it interacts with it. The key feature absent for a prolific snowmaker is blocking over Greenland, which keeps the cold in Canada. The idea for now is for a mild pattern to start in December. Enjoy Sunday, be blessed, and thank you for your continued support!
