Showers exit and the wind picks upTHANKSGIVING DAY: Showers over the north end by around noon and may end as light snow as a parting gift. The sunshine increases in the afternoon in The County. Snow showers are possible in the western mountains. The wind will pick up and gust at times. While the temperatures are seasonably mild, it may not feel that way, as the wind chill may knock off upwards of 10° off the actual temperature. THANKSGIVING NIGHT: The breeze lessens after sunset but won't fully diminish. Partly cloudy overnight with lows in the 20s. BLACK FRIDAY: The mountains may see snow showers in the morning. There is concern about the potential for snow squalls in the afternoon. While the threat is mainly over the mountains and north, there is an isolated risk for the coastal plain. The squalls may be strong enough to dump a quick inch or more of snow and slick the roads up. Be aware of the potential when travelling. Expect the breeze to pick up again, with gusty conditions over the south, west, and east in the 20-30 mph range. High temperatures range from around 30° along the Quebec border to the low 40s along the coast. Wind chill values range from the teens in the mountains to the low 30s along the shore. EXTENDED OUTLOOK: Mountain snow showers are possible early on Saturday, but taper off by mid-morning. Wind diminishes, with slightly cooler-than-normal high temperatures. Sunday sees increasing clouds with snow showers developing over the interior and rain showers along the coastal plain in the afternoon. Snow changes to rain over much of the interior heading into Sunday night, with a few snow showers as a parting gift early Monday. The roads may be tricky due to black ice on Monday morning. The next storm on the way has a 45% chance of being a plowable affair for the coast Tuesday night into Wednesday. We'll see. Be blessed, have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and thank you for your support!
