I have a quick update this morning as I am dealing with tech issues. The primary concern, while low, is the threat of isolated low-capped thunderstorms over the region this afternoon. The rule of thumb here is if the sun comes out, the thunder guns may come out, so keep that in mind as the day progresses. While the chart here from SPC highlights the west and south, I can't rule out the risk of rumbles over the north and east later in the day as the cold front advances through the region. Storms may contain small hail (graupel in the higher terrain), gusty wind, a quick downpour, and loud thunder. As far as rain goes, most of the region picks up ¼-¾", with northern and eastern areas of The County pushing 1" or more by the time showers end in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. High temperatures range from the mid to upper 40s north to around 60° for the southwest interior. Expect a breeze out of the southeast through the day, which keeps the shorelines raw and cool with the wind off the 40° ocean. The breeze shifts to the west/northwest and will become gusty overnight into Wednesday, with gusts 20-35 mph, with the taller hills 35-45 mph. With cooler air pouring in, low temperatures fall into the 30s for Wednesday morning. Snow and/or rain showers are expected for the mountains and north on Wednesday. The coast will experience breezy, dry conditions and more sun than clouds. High temperatures will be seasonably cool from around 40° north to around 50° south.
