TUESDAY: The early morning showers passing through the region become more isolated to the west, south, and east, with a better chance to the north. As the warm front works in for a brief visit, cloud cover breaks up over the coastal plain, giving a better opportunity for sun over southwestern areas.

The question is, how far north does the warm front make it? The southwest interior is better at reaching the 60s (70s possible for Fryeburg, pending on warm front advancement). The shorelines will be dealing with an onshore flow, which will not only keep temperatures down but also bring a risk for patchy fog.

The cold front falls apart as it passes through in the late afternoon. I can't rule out a sprinkle or light shower, but most areas stay dry. Any fog or drizzle around clears out heading into the evening.

The wind shifts to the west initially, then tilts northwest Tuesday night, with gusts increasing heading into Wednesday.

WEDNESDAY: A dry and breezy day ahead as the northwest wind continues under mainly sunny conditions. Fire danger concerns exist as the little rainfall on Tuesday dries out quickly.

THURSDAY: Clouds increase with a shower possible for the state's western half in the afternoon. All areas may see a shower overnight into early Friday.

FRIDAY appears dry with variable clouds. I can't rule out a late-day shower over the west.

WEEKEND: Saturday appears to be the wetter of the two days, with snow possible at higher elevations as cold air moves into the low level. Showers continue overnight into Sunday. At this point, the forecast confidence in when the precipitation ends is low. The idea at this point is ½-1" of rain possible, with higher totals along the coastal plain.
