QUICK THOUGHTS...
DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS—SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY continues throughout the day. Seas range from 3-6 feet and subside during the day. High tide is around noon. Respect the ocean for what it is capable of. SHOWER THREAT continues through Tuesday, with the mountains and north seeing the best chance, but I can’t rule out a stray shower elsewhere. Areas experiencing fog early on should see it go away as dry air works in, thanks to the NW breeze. COLD POOL MOVES IN ALOFT, which keeps the risk of daytime showers and a storm chance through the end of the week. This forecast loop of the 700mb (~10,000 ft) through Saturday morning shows the cold air at the low level. As the upper low wobbles through the region, daytime heating rises into the low freezing level and produces clouds and precipitation chances. The main threat is over the higher elevations, but I can’t rule out sprinkles or light showers elsewhere. A thunderstorm that develops may produce small hail in this scenario. The cold pool also keeps surface temperatures below normal. THE WEEKEND looks decent at this point. Temperatures are expected to warm up, and dry conditions are expected for the first half. Another upper low is expected to enter the region on Sunday or Monday, bringing the next chance for rainfall. LOOKING FOR MORE INFORMATION? The PTW Weather Wall is a place to look.
