It's beginning to look a lot like ChristmasFor the folks teetering on travel for the day, this graphic is provided to assist. The general idea remains that morning travel will be manageable, but as we head toward dark, road conditions along the interstate and Route 1 corridors will deteriorate with heavy snow. No fundamental changes to the forecast. Where there is bust potential is over the far north, where totals may end up on the low end if the forecast track jogs more to the south, and along the coastal front, where snow may nuke on the cold side, and warm air off the 48° ocean may eat away at totals along the shorelines. On the cold side of the coastal front, some areas may pick up a foot of snow, but that all depends on where the bands set up and how long they last. Power outages are possible along the coast where snow sticks to trees as the wind will pick up Tuesday night into Wednesday on the backside of the storm. Expect wind chills below zero over interior areas and the low teens along the shorelines to add bite to the cleanup. Temperatures and outlook into the weekendA snow squall watch is in effect for Thursday, with late January temperatures and freezer-burn wind chills on Friday, and snow showers possible over the weekend.
