WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for southern and western areas until 1 PM and for eastern areas until 4 PM. PLEASE BE AWARE that WIND SPEEDS will INCREASE later in the day, and SNOW SQUALLS are POSSIBLE around EVENING DRIVE TIME. While the advisories may be allowed to expire, that does not mean the risk is over. COLD WEATHER ADVISORY for the north. I suspect one may be issued for the western mountains later today as wind chill values head to freezer-burn territory in the --30s and --20s as the northwest wind cranks overnight. BLOWING SNOW is a concern for overnight travelers, as it may cause brief whiteout conditions and slick spots. AFTER A BITTER COLD and breezy Thursday, snow and rain appear likely for Friday into Saturday. The interior will likely be plowable with a few inches possible, and coastal areas should stay tuned.
