I feel like I am turning into the Maytag repairman at this point. Folks who remember those commercials from the late 70s/early 80s know exactly what I am talking about. The pattern can be summed up in three words: warm, dry, and boring. It will be this way for a while. Folks with sensitive wells should consider water conservation. Fire danger levels are increasing. Irrigation of gardens will be on repeat. Daily sea breezes cool the shorelines, with above-normal temperatures on the low and high end at times over the next several days. A bit of rain is possible on Friday. Just a heads up, the European ensemble idea posted here is rather generous in rainfall amounts. The model is often on the juicier side of reality, which is why it is used to hype in certain situations. Northern areas have the best chance for something measurable, typical with clipper systems. Closer to the coast, more in the way of clouds and sprinkles. I don't see any meaningful rainfall over the next couple of weeks, and the longer-term ideas indicate dry times extending well into October. Foliage season is likely to be memorable, with little in the way of storm activity and dry conditions. Thank you to those who have contributed to PTW for 2025.
