A good ol’fashioned fall rainstorm is on track to bring some much-needed rainfall to the area. Southern, western, and central regions appear to get an inch or more. The mountains could receive 1¾”-2”+ with the southeast flow. Timing remains on track for showers to develop late Wednesday afternoon over the west and south and overspread the region Wednesday night into early Thursday. Rain continues and may be locally heavy over southwestern areas Thursday afternoon into early evening. Showers taper off Thursday night, but some residual showers over the mountains and north Friday morning, ending by around noon. Overall, impacts appear to be minor. Breezy conditions will bring down some of the early foliage. For those commuting, just be aware of slick spots from fallen leaves and reduce speeds in moderate to heavy showers with a risk of thunder that may reduce visibility. Some street drains may plug up and cause some nuisance flooding there. I will continue to monitor and update if necessary.
