Bring the mums inside tonightIt appears to be a frosty night ahead for all areas away from the shorelines around the state tonight. If you are still growing, you'll want to cover up or bring in what you can. Be advised that Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights this week will likely feature widespread areas of sub-freezing temperatures. Growing season is closing out very quickly. Rain showers to higher elevation flurries tonightOnce the frontal boundary heads east this afternoon, some light spot shower are possible as the Canadian high to the west moves into the region. Higher elevations in the mountains may see a few flakes this evening before ending later tonight. A chilly night aheadFolks in the interior areas can expect 20s for overnight lows tonight. Along the coastal plain, pending on if there is enough breeze or cloud cover will dictate how far the mercury will drop tonight. Again, unless you can smell the salt from the ocean from where you live, you'll want to cover up your gardens and/or bring in what you can as Sunday morning will be on the crispy side. Sunday appears to be mainly sunny with daytime highs in the 40s over the mountains and north, 50s south and east. Sunday night appears a bit warmer with 30s for the interior and 40s for the coastal plain. Cooler trend for the week ahead |
