Morning snow showers over the north end Sunday

Picture
The storm that worked through the region Saturday night will exit northern areas Sunday morning. A west/northwesterly breeze in its wake is on track to settle down this afternoon. Upslope snow showers are possible for the western mountains through midday. Clouds will be on the increase over southern and western areas this afternoon ahead of the next quick hitter Sunday night into Monday.

 Another split precipitation event
Sunday night into Monday

Picture
Sunday 8 PM - Monday 10 PM - The bulk of the precipitation passes through southwestern areas before daylight Monday. Northern and eastern areas will deal with off and on snow and/or rain showers through the day, tapering off later in the day. Snow showers are likely to pick up over the western mountains late Monday into Monday night.

Another manageable event precipitation wise. Travel may be a bit slick over the interior early Monday over western areas, and over northern areas through the day, but impacts will be minor overall.

Outlook through the week

Picture
Sunday 1 PM - Tuesday 7 PM - The storm that gives the region light precipitation Monday bombs out over the Canadian Maritimes on Tuesday which will bring breezy conditions everywhere along with snow showers for the mountains through the day.

An upper-level ridge begins to build in for Wednesday. Guidance becomes conflicted on handling a disturbance riding along it. For now, there is a chance for late day mixed bag precipitation for western and northern areas Wednesday night into Thursday. An upper-level trough approaches the region for Thursday and could bring another split light precipitation event (snow north, rain south) in the afternoon heading into Friday. Stay tuned for fine tuning on that.
