Power Outages Down to 81,000The power companies continue to make strides to get people back online from the late October Gale. At 5:45 AM, Central Maine Power reported 69,039 offline, and Emera Maine was at 12,022. Total statewide was down to 81,061. Cold Front Passes ThroughA frontal boundary will pass through the region today. Heavier rain is likely to fall over northern areas, and the far south may escape without seeing a drop. Temperatures will be well above normal for the day, with 50s and 60s primarily, and a pocket of 70s over southwestern areas. By mid afternoon, the front appears to split the state from southwest to northeast. The mountains and north will have seen the wind shift. The front is expected to be offshore by early evening. Saturday will be a reality check temperature wise with 20s and 30s to start off. High temperatures will be where they should be for early November with highs in the 40s and 50s.
A bit of a wintry mix is possible to start Sunday for the mountains and north. Details on that to come. Thank you as always for your support! -Mike |
