The strongest gusts DownEast work through by 9-10 AM and then the wind settles for a few hours. Impressive gusts recorded in Southern New England including Barnstable on Cape Cod which clocked a speed of 90 mph. Around western and southern Maine and New Hampshire, Mount Washington recorded a gust of 125 mph. Closer to the surface, Kittery Point registered a 67 mph gust.
