Showers and isolated storms later Thursday; updated Memorial Day weekend forecast

A few rumbles possible tonight

Folks getting an early jump on holiday weekend camping trips should be on notice that isolated thunderstorms are possible, mainly in the high country later Thursday into Friday morning. Potentially, they could pack downpours, localized flash flooding, and some gusty winds. The severe storm threat is very low. 

Most of the region stays dry into Thursday night before areas get showers and potential storms overnight. It will be a bit of a soggy start Friday morning in some areas, but the region as a whole should see improvement as the day progresses.

The trend continues that the weekend won't be total washout, but will be damp at times. Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon appears dry for the region. Monday appears to be dry for the state, also. Sunday appears to be the wettest of the holiday weekend, with only northern areas expecting showers through the day.  Tuesday appears wet everywhere.

Western and eastern areas continue to remain on track to get the most rainfall with an inch or more through the weekend. Localized areas of higher or lower amounts are possible. If you are camping over of the holiday, pick your spot with rain in mind. 

Outlook through Tuesday

While Saturday will be the warmest day of the weekend, Monday will be the driest of the three statewide. For folks travelling, please do so safely.
